Over the Memorial Day weekend I decided to surprise my boyfriend, James, on a trip to Bainbridge Island which is just a ferry trip away from where we live in Seattle! The last time I had visited Bainbridge had been well over 10 years ago, so as you can imagine things have change quite a lot. I absolutely fell in love with all the the beautiful local shops. I recommend going to visit sometime over the summer. It is a great getaway from the city.
We had such a wonderful trip. James was a trooper with all of the window shopping I made him do. We ate at an amazing Mexican restaurant, however I did notice that most of the restaurants on the island were more expensive than eating in Seattle. Every entree started at about twenty dollars. I also recommend trying to take the bus to the ferry so you don't have to pay for taking your car on the ferry, which can add up. It cost quite a bit as you also have to pay for the passengers in the car along with the car.
One of my favorites stores on the Island was Salt House Mercantile which I will be doing a featured blog post on. I wanted to buy everything in this store and I know you will love it too!
