How
to design beautifully while on a budget
Although
you may feel overwhelmed by design and making a space look beautiful. I have
found a cheap way to give your home a minimal Scandinavian look you desire. Finding pieces you love in your home don’t always have to be from Urban Outfitters you
can take the same piece there and make it your self for a fraction of the
price! Here is just how I did that.
I
made my own metal grid, which sells on Urban Outfitters for $49. I made this
one for under $15! First I found my wall grid in the gardening section of Fred
Meyers for $6! Next I simply spray painted it gold and added some fake plants
to the side which I got from Ikea for 3.99. These fake plants are my favorite
as they are such a good quality for an amazing price. I then added some prints
with clothespins and was finished! I loved the way it turned out!
Next
just above I used the Umbra Pinch Photo Display Clips, which was just $12.99! I
actually had gotten these as a present from a friend but they can be found here from amazon! I added some polaroid pictures that I have taken over
time and displayed them to add a personal touch.
I
also added both of these touches on either side of the wall grid to add some
balance. On the left I had made these yarn hangings by just using a dowel cut
in half, some yarn and string which I all got from Joanns. I simply just tied
it around, I can do another blog post on how I did it if you guys would enjoy
that. Now on the right side I got these canvas prints from TJ Maxx for just $12.99
each!
Adding some final touches to the look I added some sweet decor. I had gotten the pillow from Target for $19.99 and can be found here. I am currently loving pom poms I think they are so cute and a fun thing to add to a space. Next the wooden candle holder I got which was also from Target and can be found here. I love the simplicity of the piece and how light the wood is. The branches I used were the same ones used on the wall grid and can be found at Ikea for $3.99 each, these leaves are such a great quality and look so realistic for being fake. The vase they are in is from Hobby Lobby, I had gotten this a while ago and unfortunately couldn't find the price however I remember it being around 10 dollars. Lastly I got this throw to go over the chest which can also be found at Ikea and was only $9.99! What a bargain! As for the actual chest I got this as a family heirloom but I have seen many at the goodwills next to me for a cheap as $19.99! Which is amazing for such a beautiful piece! Something I have found important is to save money it always a great idea to shop at your local thrift store or try on craigslist!
